Unschooling encourages the natural curiosity of the student, thereby fostering a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Many parents have discovered that this type of schooling prepares their children for real-life experiences. 

3. Virtual Classrooms. Direct broadcast of the classroom into the home via the Internet offers children the opportunity to learn in the traditional environment right along with other students. For many, this type of teaching provides the best of both worlds; the child has the structured curriculum, facilitated as needed by the parent at home. 

4. Online tutoring. When a child is in need of assistance not provided by a school, or help that a parent may not be qualified to cover, an online tutor fills this gap nicely. The extra attention can be just what the student needs to overcome hurdles and thrive. 

5. Special needs and circumstances. Children with ADHD or dyslexia may benefit greatly from an education curriculum outside the standard classroom, as well as those facing other challenges not met by the system, like anxiety issues. Additionally, any student at risk for being ostracized for a physical or mental condition often benefits greatly from non-standard classrooms. 

6. Developing special talents. Often a gifted child will require individualized instructions; parents supplement traditional education if their son or daughter is a musical prodigy or demonstrates an extremely high IQ. This extra attention provides a nurturing yet disciplined way of developing specialties to fruition.

For many reasons and often with great results, parents are customizing the educational setting and criteria of their children, while taking learning to a whole new level. As the most qualified individuals to manage the schooling process, one thing is perfectly clear: when parents become directly involved in the educational process, the success rate of students soars!
