This is perhaps the book event of the century so far. Finally the grand epic of Robert Jordan is about to reach its conclusion. Wheel of time started as a three part trilogy way back in the early 1990s and as they say it rest is history. It has become the defining book in its genre inspiring man a fan into becoming a fantasy writer themselves. Since, then more books have been published and each of them a bestseller since the release of “The Shadow Rising”, the book 4 of the series.

At first glance, you will find nothing different or big in the story. It is a story of Rand Al Thor a farm boy who is born in a world that is going to be saved by a prophecy that spells its doom. This is perhaps the most intriguing part of the story. This world created by Robert Jordan is driven by the one power. It is the power that drives the wheel of ages. A giant wheel with 7 spokes. Each spoke represents an age and we have a creator who represents the light and the Shaitan who represents the dark side. Creator imprisoned the dark one at the time of creation.

Story starts at the end of third age when the war of power is at its end, the war the result of some of the channelers accidentally drilling a hole in the dark one’s prison. Once the dark one started touching the world some of the most powerful channelers, join him on promises of immortality and unlimited power. The Channelers are the people who can touch the one power and use it to perform amazing feats. Lews Therin the dragon sealed the DO and forsaken in a last desperate strike against Shayol Ghul, abode of the dark one. He manages to seal the bore in the prison of the dark one, but his counter stroke tainted Saidin the male half of the one power and as a result of that all male channelers become raving lunatics and psychopaths. They destroy the land and change the geography of the planet. 

While Saidar is safe to use, but people no longer trust Aes Sedai, which literally means servant of all and is the title of the people who can channel one power. Before breaking they used to be both male and female channelers. However, in three thousand years since breaking there has been only female Ae4s Sedais and man channeling is something to fear and despise.

In these conditions our main protagonist is born. He is supposed to be the rebirth of Lews Therin Telamone who killed everyone with a trace of his blood in his madness. Earning him the nickname of Kin Slayer. This is the development of Rand Al Thor the dragon reborn and this epic is going to reach its conclusion in “A Memory of Light” book 14 in the series. For long time fans it is not a news, but for those of you that haven’t read it yet. You should read it. As, this book has transcended the boundaries of genre and time to become perhaps the greatest modern fantasy epic.
